- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Art and Design
Learning to adapt, adapting to learn.
Throughout our Art & Design journey, we searched for a voice that truly represents us.
Sometimes we lost our way or felt overwhelmed, but every challenge became a valuable lesson. In our final year, curating the "21g" exhibition with the theme "Soul" tested our resilience and creative boundaries. Through all the trial and error, late nights, and teamwork, we learned to embrace the learning process itself turning every obstacle into personal and artistic growth.
We are deeply grateful to our professors, mentors, and peers who guided and supported us along the way. Now, as we near the end of this chapter, looking back, we can honestly say: we've all grown into better versions of ourselves.
May we always cherish these memories and keep creating. After all, you only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
CHAU Chi Nam
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Computing
It's safe to say that my years at this institution will be among the most unforgettable of my life. To be honest, I was never an outstanding student. Every week, I made sure none of my lecturers could spot me in class. It wasn't because I was lazy; I was devoting all my energy to pursuing my dream, which took quite some time.
Even though I wasn't an outstanding student, this institution gave me the opportunity to learn, fail, and rise again. Along the way, I also made friends who supported me.
Now that my studies are over, I've earned more than a diploma: I've also realized that every dream comes at a price. I don't know how challenging the future will be, whether I'm looking for a job or pursuing my dream. I know I may never feel fully ready, but I'm not afraid to feel afraid as I face whatever challenges come my way.
LI Yi Saraa Dee
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Cultural and Creative Industries
Looking back on my university journey, I am so grateful for the opportunities, experiences and people that have shaped me along the way. With the support and resources provided by HSUHK and the BA-CCI programme, I am fortunate to have joined the Summer Japanese Programme at Seinan Gakuin University in Japan, participated in the Global Internship, exhibited my group work at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's International Licensing Show and taken part in the HSUHK Innovation Project Competition, where my team was honoured to receive the first runner-up and Honorary Mention Award on our Herbal Tea Guardian Game that promotes intangible cultural heritage through gamification.
I am especially thankful to all the teachers and my CCI peers for their constant support and encouragement. These memories will always remind me that university was not only about learning, but also about growing, connecting, and exploring the world. With the generous support by the S H Ho Scholarship for Overseas Post-graduate Studies, I am now embarking my new postgraduate study journey for a MA in Digital Arts and Humanities at University College Cork (UCC) in Ireland.
LIU Yihao
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chinese
My four years at HSUHK have been a journey of learning, exploration and growth. As a student of the BA (Hons) in Chinese programme and a member of the HSUHK Honours Academy, I was fortunate to grow both academically and personally in a supportive and inspiring community. Studying Chinese literature deepened my appreciation of language, culture and the humanities. My exchange semester at National Taiwan University let me test what I had learned in a different academic and cultural environment.
Beyond the classroom, the friendships I formed, the guidance I received from my teachers and the many opportunities to explore my interests have all become treasured parts of my university life. Looking back, I am grateful not only for the knowledge I gained, but also for the confidence, curiosity and sense of purpose that HSUHK has given me. I will carry these memories and lessons with me wherever I go next.
LU Chaoqun
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Convergent Media and Communication Technology
I was never good at goodbyes. I only remember Hong Kong's restless weather, rain and wind taking turns, as if the four years were reluctant to end.
I often lost my way at the crossroads. Yet someone was always there, never rushing me to grow up, but walking beside me until the road made sense again. A teacher would point to the next step when I could barely untangle my own thoughts; a friend would hand me the chopsticks before asking what was wrong; my time at the TV Studio taught me how to handle a camera, and, more importantly, how to move at each other's pace.
If our paths cross again, may those who carried the light stay safe, and may those they lit never forget.
And may we carry that awkward tenderness of having been loved, and keep walking until we find our own way of being.
LAM Winola Wai-larm
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English
Reflecting upon my four years of university life, what I love the most is the casual conversations with my professors after class. Our department is just so full of love, everyone is so approachable, ready to chat and answer our questions. From these little moments, I have discovered that my passion for literature does not stop at studying, what makes my eyes light up is discussing and sharing it with others.
I am also incredibly grateful for all the opportunities that I have been given, from co-hosting a radio programme to presenting at an international conference, and writing my first published chapter… these are the experiences that will stay with me forever.
For those who are still figuring out their path in English, no need to stress over it at all. Whether you lean towards literature or linguistics, trust the process and the answer will become clearer as you go on.

Starting my journey at HSUHK, I often described myself as someone with "all possibilities to unleash." My time at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong has been a meaningful and rewarding journey. What impressed me most was the genuine care and support shown by the lecturers. Despite their busy schedules, they were always willing to answer questions, offer guidance, and encourage us whenever we faced challenges.
The small-class teaching environment made a real difference to my learning experience. Lecturers actively engaged with students, encouraged discussion, and paid close attention to our responses. This interactive atmosphere allowed us to exchange ideas freely, receive timely feedback, and develop confidence in expressing our views. Through the BBA-Economics programme, I also strengthened my analytical and critical-thinking skills.

SZE Kam Fai
- Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Financial Analysis
Throughout my 4-year university life, I gained valuable experience and insights beyond financial knowledge; diverse events and the liberal arts education gave me opportunities to become a well-rounded individual and to face the competitive world. I remember the time when I attended a career talk, where I had the chance to engage in a conversation that gave me a real-life vision of my future career direction. In addition, the events held by the PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) programme certainly raised my interest in Philosophy and different topics, giving me new perspectives on myself and the world. The university has been offering prospects to students; it took me 2 years to realize that the only barrier between us and the gate is merely the determination to step out of our own comfort zones; thus, for those who are reading this article, I suggest you participate in activities that might or might not interest you.

- Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Global Business Management
If the 18-year-old me could meet the person I am today, I believe she would be proud.
My four years at HSUHK have been a transformative journey of stepping beyond my comfort zone and discovering my potential. From joining case competitions with friends and embarking on an exchange programme to repeatedly stepping onto the stage to share my experiences, every opportunity challenged me to grow in confidence and strengthen my communication skills.
Being selected as an Excellent Student, serving as an Awardee Representative at the Scholarship and Award Ceremony, speaking at the School of Business Alumni Dinner, and representing students as a Student Showcase at the High Table Dinner are among the highlights I will always cherish. What made these experiences truly meaningful was the encouragement I received from classmates, faculty members, alumni, and guests who approached me afterwards. Every time I shared my story, I found myself reflecting on how far I had come.
Today, as an alumna and young professional, I stand confidently on the strong foundation HSUHK has given me. I am Formica, still learning, still growing, and always striving to become the best version of myself.

- Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Human Resource Management
As a homegrown HSUHK HRM student, I realized early on that true growth extends far beyond pen and paper. It means stepping out of your comfort zone, building meaningful connections, and engaging with a world where passion and purpose ignite.
I have been truly fortunate to explore the world and continuously elevate myself—from participating in international exchanges and academic conferences to launching my career in HRM, and now applying those foundations as I pursue my ambitions in international relations. While young people can dream endlessly, having dedicated mentors to guide us—to think, plan, and turn those dreams into reality—was the ultimate blessing. For this, I am deeply honored, grateful, and proud to call myself an HSUHK graduate.
HSUHK surrounds us with opportunities. The real question is: Do we have the determination, confidence, and courage to seize them, go the extra mile, and lead meaningful change?

- Master of Arts in English Language Teaching and Assessment
When I arrived at HSUHK from India, I carried more questions than answers. Would I belong? Could I keep up? Two years later, I leave with something far more valuable than a degree: a community that believed in me before I believed in myself.
The MA ELTA programme did not just teach me how to teach. It taught me how to think, question, and research. Presenting my paper at the ALS and UG/PG conferences organized by ENG, supporting Dr Kong and Dr Bui's research, and leading my peers in the Teach to Learn programme—these moments shaped me into an educator and a scholar.
To my professors: 'Thank you for your patience'. To my classmates: 'Thank you for your laughter'. Hong Kong is now home because of such great connections that couldn't have been possible without HSUHK.
